From wilderness trails to airboat rides, Oviedo’s filled with wild adventures.
While much of Oviedo’s a relaxed, friendly slice of old Florida, there’s plenty here to get your heart racing. Visit the Black Hammock Fish Camp for an airboat tour of Lake Jessup, home to the highest population of alligators of any lake in Florida. On this exhilarating ride, you’ll see some of Florida’s most unique wildlife. Or visit The Econ River Wilderness Area to explore three miles of trails along the Econlockhatchee River, a natural habitat for the golden mouse and great horned owl. You can also pick up the Cross Seminole Trail in downtown Oviedo, which is sure to display even more of the area’s natural beauty. Continue your old Florida experience by staying at the Kings Manor Bed and Breakfast, a charming 1884 Victorian farmhouse. Other experiences not to be missed are the Artistic Hand Art Gallery in downtown Oviedo and the Oviedo Marketplace Mall, offering more than 95 stores, numerous restaurants and a movie theater.
